I would like to thank all of our parishioners and the surrounding communities for their enthusiasm and support in anticipation of opening the new St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Yankee Road this summer. Construction is on schedule and if you have driven by recently, you can see that tremendous progress has been made! As we head toward the final stretch of the construction schedule, it has come to my attention that several people have been taking self-guided tours of the property. In order to ensure your safety and prevent the risk of injury (which could become a liability situation and possibly delay construction), I ask that you please refrain from coming onto the grounds at this time. Once completed, we will be providing tours of the new church and outdoor areas, and in fact are planning open houses following the dedication by Archbishop Schnurr on August 14. However, now is not the right time for tours. As an artist never unveils their sculpture until it has been completed, I would like to have the same opportunity to unveil our new church after it has been completed. I greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation with this important matter. - Fr. Jim
