More than four years ago, Pope Francis issued the encyclical
Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home. The Diocese of Worcester and their Environmental Stewardship Ministry have been creating a program of education and action to help parishes and the Catholic community stay informed on environmental issues. Together, they are asking that each parish have an Environmental Stewardship Parish Liaison who can support the diocesan effort. If you are interested in the environment and the human impact of pollution please consider being the parish liaison. The role of the liaison is to:
- Receive Flocknote messages concerning programs sponsored by or promoted by the Environmental Stewardship Ministry and promote these within your parish through proper media channels.
- Provide the diocesan team feedback concerning their efforts to promote Catholic Social Teaching on Care for Creation.
- Attend 2 or 3 meetings per year to discuss current issues with other Parish Liaisons and volunteers.
