Dear Parents,
I want to thank you for your child(ren)'s participation in the Confirmation retreat this past Saturday. I was very proud of their behavior and their receptiveness to the retreat. They did very well!
Confirmation is in just over 3 months and we are starting to hone in on completing the remaining requirements. One such requirement are the required service projects.
In the expectations of the program, candidates were expected to do at least one of the four service projects that would be organized by the church and done together as a group. The next opportunity for one of these four projects is next Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg (740 Wiley Farm Ct, Schaumburg IL -- no transportation will be provided to this event via Saint Andrew).
This project can count for not only for the “Local” project on your child's form, but also the "International" project. In order to attend, I need parents to RSVP by noon on Thursday, October 10.
To sign your child up for this service project, please put your child’s name on the Google sheet found at this link….
The following month, we will hold another service project at the Mobile Food Pantry at the Mission of Our Lady of Angels on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 8:30am. This is a repeat of the project that was done last April and is very rewarding.
To sign your child up for this service project, please put your child’s name on the Google sheet found at this link….
Next Step with Sponsors
Just to ready you for things coming up in our calendar, there is a class for all candidates with their sponsors on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm in the parish Auditorium. Just the like mandatory meeting last Spring, this meeting is a guided conversation between the candidate and the sponsor. Therefor, if a sponsor cannot be in attendance at the meeting, another adult may step in and represent the sponsor.
As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I’ll keep you posted as things are coming up in our preparation for Confirmation.
God bless,
-David Heimann
