It's taken us 125 years for us to get to this point, but we are just about there!
Saint Andrew is ready to start a year long celebration of serving this neighborhood for 125 years!
Our official birthday is this Wednesday, October 16, 2019. We will have a school Mass at 9:00am and for all parishioners attending the Mass, you are invited to help us cut the parish's birthday cake and to enjoy a piece of it!
Other celebrations will get into full swing this Saturday and Sunday when we begin the first Hospitality Weekend of our 125th anniversary.

125th Anniversary Celebration
Our parish's year-long celebration for our 125th birthday kicks off with our first Hospitality Weekend this Saturday and Sunday, October 19 & 20. After every Mass, there will be time for fellowship over cake or coffee and donuts as well as a short history scavenger hunt. During the weekend, be sure to pick up your guide for the 125th Anniversary which will include numerous events and chances to gather throughout the year. We will hold a Mass of Remembrance on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 9:00am for all the deceased, especially those who have died in the past year. There will be an Altar of Remembrance in which you are invited to place a photo of your deceased love one. During the service, a candle will also be lit in honor of their memory. If you would like us to include a name and a photo of someone who has died in the past year, please send that information to info@standrew.org
Volunteer at GCFD
The next opportunity to volunteer at the Greater Chicago Food Depository with fellow Saint Andrew parishioners will be this coming Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 8:30 to 11:15am. Contact Nancy at neh213@gmail.com to express interest and to register.

As we prayed yesterday during Mass, we recognize that this day holds mixed emotions in our country. We recognize that indigenous people of America still possess many needs rooted in wounds from past injustices. May we be responsive to these needs and may the indigenous cultures of America and their rich history continue to flourish.
