November's Altar Guild meeting included a talk by Sister Renee on her life as an IHM Sister. She was celebrating the IHM Founder's Day anniversary.
Plans were made during the meeting for the Thanksgiving Bake Sale (which raised over $1400 for Altar and Church supplies and a few charities).
Then the members baked 700 cookies for our troops that were delivered to the USO at RDU airport.
All women of the parish are invited to join this engaged group.

Souls?
Recently there was a beautiful ceremony honoring our loved ones who have gone on to the Father. It was held in our Columbarium on All Souls Day. It included songs, scripture readings, prayers and remembrances.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) calls it the "Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed" and it is an important part of the Church's annual cycle. I was unable to attend this year but plan to next year. Those who did participate said it was a memorable experience.
