VETERAN'S DAY
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all Veterans for their service and dedication to our country. It was wonderful to see so many Veterans associated with STM attend our luncheon today!
THANKSGIVING PROCESSION - NOVEMBER 19
Every November, STM Catholic collects food for the needy in the metro area. This year, we have been asked by the Benevitos House Food Bank to collect the following items to fulfill their needs at the food bank. As you will see, some grades have been assigned to bring in the same items as there is a higher need for those items at this time. Please have all items brought to school by Monday, November 18 at the latest.
* Kindergarten and 1st grade - Oranges
* 2nd grade – Pears
* 3rd grade – Olives
* 4th grade – Sweet potatoes
* 5th grade – Nuts
* 6th grade – Pears
* 7th grade – Grapefruit
* 8th grade – Sweet potatoes
THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS
SERVICE PROJECTS
For the next five weeks, students in grades K - 8 will be asked to collect items for those in need as a Thanksgiving/Christmas Project:
6th, 3rd, and Kindergarten students will be collecting items for the elderly at Holy Family Plaza and St. Martin Plaza. Holy Family and St. Martin's are asking for gift cards, candies, Chapstick, socks, lotions, hand sanitizers, or anything kind of small “stocking stuffer”. Dollar stores or the individual-sized items at Target or Walmart would be good, as well.
7th, 4th, and 1st Grade students will be collecting items for the men and women served by Christ in the City. Christ in the City is asking for adult-sized wool socks (huge priority), hand warmers/foot warmers (top priority), gloves, scarves, beanies, new underwear, and Waterproof boots.
8th, 5th, and 2nd Grade students will be collecting items for new mothers and children served by Fr. Woody’s Haven of Hope. Fr. Woody’s is asking for new, unopened toys or children’s games and diapers.
Collection bins and boxes are located at the top of the steps near Mrs. P.’s office and the conference room. Students are welcome to collect and donate to all organizations, not just their grade-specific ones. Every little bit helps.
