Hello, Everyone!
Spiders are amazing critters and we learned a little about them last week.
Can you imagine having eight legs? Or eight eyes?
How could you walk? Where would you look first?
What? A spider only has two body parts? When God made spiders , he only gave them a head & an abdomen.
Thanks to a good book, we found out how spiders catch their food, what a spider eats & saw pictures of some amazing webs.
As a group we decided: No need to be afraid of a spider!
We are bigger than them! And spiders catch many pesky bugs for lunch.
Mrs. Mac read an old time classic by Eric Carle: The Very Busy Spider.
Of course we had to sing a Raffi favorite: Spider on the floor.
Children had the opportunity to weave a spider web.
Everyone also created an artsy web. White paint & a couple of marbles rolling around on paper work great! Spiders will be added to webs this week.
I hope all Fire Trucks made it home safely? Children & teachers alike were very happy with the end result!
Yes, there's still time to send book orders to school! It would be great to place the order tomorrow. - Payment can be made in cash or by check made payable to Scholastic Book Clubs
Halloween Party!
Our class will celebrate this spooky holiday on Thursday, October 31st!
We'll get everyone into costumes. The plan is to show off our finery & parade through classrooms at 10 o'clock.
Back in our classroom, snack will be served .
Time permitting we'll play a couple of games.
Parents, grandparents or other brave grown-ups wanting to help & be part of this celebration are invited to join us that day!
Assistance is always welcome when things out of the ordinary happen!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for all the tasty snacks sent last week!
Mrs. A & I are looking forward to more fun in learning with your child!
