MASS SCHEDULE FOR ALL SAINTS DAY—NOV. 1
All Saints day is Friday, Nov. 1. This is a Holy Day of Obligation. Please note the following Mass times (all Masses will be held in the church).
Vigil Mass Oct. 31: 7 pm
All Saints Day, Nov. 1: 6:30 am, 8:30 am, Noon and 7 pm
Please note… The Parish Office, Faith Formation Office, and SMCS will be closed on Friday, Nov. 1.
MASS TIME FOR ALL SOULS DAY—NOV. 2
All Souls Day is Saturday, Nov. 2. The All Souls Day Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am.
At this Mass there will be a special opportunity for parishioners to remember their loved ones. We will have cards at the entrance of the church to write the names of deceased family members. These cards will be placed in a box and presented during the offering at Mass. Remembering all of these men and women who have gone before us, “marked with the sign of faith,” helps us better understand and appreciate our faith in Christ, our risen Lord, who conquers sin and death and brings new life to all.
SVDP BLACK BAG COLLECTION—NOV. 2 & 3
The St. Vincent de Paul Society’s (St. Martha Conference) Black Bag Collection for the poor and needy in our area will be held at all Masses the weekend of Nov. 2 & 3. The collection will allow the conference to continue to provide rental, utility, medical, and food assistance throughout the upcoming holiday months. We would like to issue a Family Challenge to our parish. We are a large parish and we need 500 families to step up and take our challenge to donate $100 or more to St. Martha Conference. For some of us $100 is a sizable amount, but for others it is just an evening out. Your donation will help families in need over the next few months. The challenge will run through Nov. 17 (to print the Family Challenge form click on the link below). Please help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to bring the love and mercy of Jesus to those who feel left out and abandoned. God Bless You!
SURVEY REMINDER (DEADLINE IS MONDAY, OCT. 28)Dear Parish Family,
You may be aware that we are conducting a comprehensive survey of the entire church. The purpose of the survey is to help gauge support for our upcoming capital campaign that includes allowing St. Martha’s to fulfill its $2.3 million commitment to the archdiocesan IGNITE: Our Faith, Our Mission Capital Campaign as well as the following parish projects:
- Making the necessary repairs to mitigate flooding at our school
- Reducing or eliminating our debt of $7.7 million
I would like to thank everyone who has already participated in the study. Your thoughts are extremely valuable to us during this planning process. I encourage everyone that has not responded to do so. Your input will help us make an informed decision regarding our plans for St. Martha.
Please share your thoughts by completing the survey online (click here for survey link). Then, click on St. Martha Catholic Church and enter the password Kingwood. Please complete the survey no later than October 28. God bless,
Fr. TJ Dolce
