Today in Youth Group...
We talked about the Gospel and about the celebrations related to the dead and the communion of saints. In the Gospel, Zaccheaus encounters Jesus and he chooses to change his life for the better because of Jesus.
Over this past weekend, we had many celebrations related to the dead and the communion of saints. We celebrated Halloween, which is the "eve" of the "hallowed" day of All Saints Day, where we celebrate all the souls that are in heaven with God. This weekend was also Dia de los muertos, which celebrates the communion of saints too! You can read more about Dia de los muertos in
the bulletin from October 27 here.
At home ask your child...
- What was the story of Zaccheaus?
- Does God the Father love you unconditionally like he loved Zaccheaus?
- When Zaccheaus saw Jesus, he decided to change his ways. How can you be more like Jesus?
- What is the communion of saints?
- Is there anyone that you miss in your life who has died?
- How can we as a family remember them, celebrate them, and pray for them?
Please Note...
Keep your eyes peeled for Mission trip details. Next weekend registration for next summer's trip to Charleston, SC will open!
Next Sunday is our last fall session. We will resume on January 5, 2020
Did you lose someone in your family? This Monday, November 4th at 7pm we will have an All Souls Vespers prayer service in the Chapel followed by a candlelit procession to the Columbarium to remember all those among our families and friends who have passed away this past year. All are welcome.
Do you go to Mass at 2:30 pm? Please do not worry about leaving Mass early to be on time to the Faith Formation/Youth Group Session. We know that the 2:30 pm Mass often runs late and expect that you will come directly from Mass to Ignatius Hall
after Mass is over.
