Counselor's Corner
SAVE THE DATE!
Middle school parents, please mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at 6:00 PM in St. Francis Hall. Alex Yannacone from the CU Johnson Depression Center will provide training and discuss skills and strategies for building resiliency, creating manageable goals, self-care, and mindfulness exercises. Barriers and obstacles will be identified, as well as how to obtain resources and supports. This session will incorporate story-telling and small group collaboration and discussions. All STM middle school students will participate in a student version of the training on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, during the school day. These training and discussion sessions are intended to reinforce the information we have been sharing through Raise Them Strong. We look forward to seeing you on January 7th!

Soles for Souls
Hold onto your shoes! This January 13th-31st, STM Catholic Beta Club will be hosting Soles for Souls. We will be collecting shoes IN ANY CONDITION! So if you clean your house over Christmas break to make room for all the goodies Santa brings, please hold onto all shoes until January. Even if it is just one flip flop – we will take it! More information will follow when we return to school in 2020.
Beta Harvest Days
There will be two more upcoming Beta Harvest Days. If your child brings in one (OR MORE) nonperishable food item on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, and Thursday, January 23, 2020, they may wear free dress. This food will be donated to the Food Bank of the Rockies on February 7 when the 8th grade goes to volunteer there on a field trip. Thank you in advance for your generous donations!
Catholic Schools Night
Attached is the flyer for the upcoming Colorado Avalanche Catholic Schools Night on January 2, 2020. A portion of ticket sales helps support the Catholic Schools Activities League – athletics, art fair, speech, spelling, and academic decathlon – during the academic year. At last count (on December 4) 77 tickets had been purchased by Catholic Schools families and the top 3 selling schools will receive exclusive pre/post-game experiences.
