Principal's Post
Advent is here! In all honesty, Advent and I have had an up and down relationship. Advent can mean so many things to different people. For me it has meant, I survived Thanksgiving, I should probably start thinking about Christmas gifts, did I wear this same sweater to the Christmas party last year, I should really remember my wife's boss's name at the BSM Christmas party, etc. I am not sure that is Advent's intended purpose but I am pretty sure we have all felt that way one time or another.
In the last few years, I have been more intentional about Advent and I getting along in terms of taking the time to reflect on its intended purpose. Although the potential for stress is high, Advent is a time of preparing and waiting. And when you think about those two actions, preparing and waiting, those are no easy skills to master, in fact, probably impossible! I am, again, challenging myself to be proactive in the waiting and preparing battle of Advent. Hopefully, we all can take some time to appreciate the significance of Christ's birth and prepare to wait in peace.
