Reflection
“Therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Matthew 3:10) Do you bear good fruit for Christ? Or, do you spend your time, talent, and treasure constantly acquiring more toys, clutter, and junk. Our time, our talent, and our treasure are gifts that God has given us. What we do with them is our gift back to God. What gifts are you planning to give to the Lord during this upcoming Christmas season?

Advent Tradition
A great tradition to start during the Advent season is preparing your Nativity Set with the exception of Baby Jesus. A Nativity set that is (temporarily) missing the Baby Jesus is a good reminder that it’s not quite Christmas yet!
St. John Paul II started the tradition of “Bambinelli Sunday”, where he encouraged children to bring their baby Jesus from their family’s nativity set to St. Peter’s Square for a special papal blessing. The children then place their baby Jesus figurine under the Christmas tree until Christmas morning (when he then rejoins the Nativity set). Pope Francis continues this tradition today.

On Sunday, December 22nd we invite children to bring their baby Jesus figurine to the 9:00 AM Mass for a special blessing.
