12:45 PM First Friday Adoration
Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque (1647-1690), a French nun in the Visitation Order, and gave her the special task to spread devotion to His Most Sacred Heart at a time when religion was growing cold in the hearts of mankind.
He said to her:
"Behold this heart which, not withstanding the burning love for men with which it is consumed and exhausted, meets with no other return from most Christians than sacrilege, contempt, indifference and ingratitude, even in the sacrament of my love [the Eucharist]. But what pierces my heart most deeply is that I am subjected to these insults by persons especially consecrated to my service."
Jesus asked for special prayers and practices to make amends (reparation) for this great neglect to the proper reverence owed to God. They include:
- Receive Holy Communion
- Make a Holy Hour in the presence of our Lord
- Offer prayers of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
- Say the rosary
- Perform some form of Penance, such as fasting, abstinence and/or other forms of mortification.

Join us for First Saturday Mass
On July 13, 1917, Our Lady said: “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. In order to save them God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart...I will come to ask for the Communion of Reparation...”
On December 10, 1925, Our Lady returned with the Child Jesus and spoke to Sr. Lucia about true devotion of reparation to Her Immaculate Heart.
Jesus spoke first: “Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.”
In order to fulfill the requirement that Our Lady asked for those making the Five First Saturdays one must, with the intention of making reparation for sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary:
- Go to Confession within 8 days before or after the first Saturdays.
- Receive Holy Communion in the state of Grace
- Pray a Rosary
- Meditate on any of the mysteries of the Rosary for 15 minutes.
