“A Shot in the Arm”
The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces; The reproach of his people he will remove from the whole earth; for the LORD has spoken. (Isaiah 25:8)
No matter what is going with you today, God reassures you that in Him everything is possible. He is “a shot in the arm” in time of hopeless, your source of comfort and hope. As He did in the past, God continues to comfort you today in a variety of ways. When you take your worries to Him in prayer, God gives you the gift of His peace. When you recall His faithfulness in the past, you are calmed in the present. Often God’s comfort comes through His people, who care for you, suffer with you, pray for you, and share God’s love with you in tangible ways. So you have the chance, not only to receive divine comfort, but also to be instruments of this comfort to others.
❦ When have you experienced God’s comfort in the past?
❦ Do you need his comfort today?
❦ Who in your life needs to experience God’s comfort?
❦ Are you willing to be an instrument of his comfort?
Gracious and merciful Lord, I thank you for wiping away my tears. I think of times in my life when I was consumed by worry. When I opened my heart to you, holding nothing back, you granted me your peace and comfort. I realized once again that my life was in your hands, and therefore had no cause for worry. Be with me today Lord!
Mary, Queen of Hope, intercede for us all. Hail Mary full of grace…
Peace in Christ,
Father Vincent-Vuong Nguyen
