Honor Your Mother: The streets of downtown Phoenix will be alive with a spectacle of swirling colors and vibrant faith Dec. 7 as hundreds of Catholics gather for the annual Honor Your Mother event that celebrates Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Diocese of Phoenix. Honor Your Mother is an exciting family-friendly procession begins at 10 a.m. from Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish to the Diocesan Pastoral Center. In the procession? Gather at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at 8:30 a.m. Want to enjoy it as a spectator? Gather outside the DPC/Convention Center at 5th and Monroe by 10 a.m. Stay for a beautiful outdoor Mass with Bishop Olmsted and Bishop Nevares following the procession.

Las Mañanitas - Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe & Festivities: The Crosier Community of Phoenix invites you to gather with them at 6 a.m. on Dec. 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe to celebrate Las Mañanitas, a traditional serenading Our Lady, followed by Mass. The service begins before sunrise with lit candles held by the participants. The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is illuminated and decorated with flowers. After the songs to Mary are sung then the Eucharist is celebrated.

ekLAYsia Program - Resilience: Adapting to Church setbacks and coming back stronger: This special ekLAYsia workshop focuses on our resilience as Catholics. Fr. Bob Rossi, osc, will lead this interactive day of learning, reflecting and sharing. Crosier Advent Healing Masses: The Crosier Fathers and Brothers are offering two Advent Healing Masses at the Priory Church of the Holy Cross at Crosier Village on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. St. Odilia is the patroness of the Crosier Order, the blind and other health challenges. This is an opportunity for pilgrims to come and celebrate the healing petitions and ministry that are the heart of this devotion. The sacrament of the anointing of the sick and personal blessings with the ancient relics of St. Odilia are offered. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome!

Blessing of the Figurines of the Child Jesus: The Crosiers of Phoenix invite all to bring their little figurines of the Christ Child to Mass at 8 a.m. Dec. 22, so that they can be blessed before they are placed in the family manger scene. The blessing includes not only the image of the Christ Child but also families and friends.

Sr. Miriam James Heidland is a former Division I athlete who had a radical conversion and joined the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) in 1998. Her story has been featured on EWTN’s The Journey Home, SEEK Conference, USCCB Convocation, Relevant Radio, and most recently spoke at the 2019 Arizona Marian Conference.
She holds a Master’s degree in Theology from the Augustine Institute and speaks extensively on the topics of conversion, authentic love, forgiveness, healing (and sports!). Being self-compassionate is the foundation of self-care and emotional health.
