Hello, Everyone!
Why do we celebrate Christmas anyway?
That was the question of the week! Here are a few of the answers Mrs. A & I heard:
"Santa brings us presents!"
"We go to grandma & grandpa's house & spend time with family!"
"We give presents to mom & dad!"
"A little voice finally piped up: "Because it's Jesus' birthday!"
Ivan Gantschev's book: "Santa's favorite Story." summed it up:
Yes, we get together with friends & family.
Yes, we exchange gifts...
and yes, we celebrate Christ's birth!
Speaking of gifts: Children are hard at work creating a surprise. So...of you come into our room & see a tray of projects, "please "look the other way"! No peeking allowed!
Of course this group has been singing Christmas songs! After all,
St. James' Christmas Program
is on Wednesday, December 11th at 6:30p.m.
at the Washington Community Center.
Prelude is to begin at 6p.m. You may want to come & listen to our older students share their talents on instruments.
Please, bring your child behind stage, but no sooner than 6:15p.m. Thank you!
The first group to sing are preschoolers at 6:30 p.m. - not at 7.p.m. as noted in the planner! After they are finished with singing, you may come up to the front of the stage to pick up your child. He/she may sit with you to enjoy the remainder of the program!
There will be a practice at the Community Center on Tuesday morning! Hopefully that will make things less scary to them the night of the concert.
Thank you so much for all the snacks brought this week!
Mrs. A & I are looking forward to more fun in learning with your child!
