Dear Friends,
It's Saint Nicholas Day, and as great Catholics we all know who he is.
Santa Claus!
Yes, indeed, the name Santa Claus is derived from the Dutch for this very, VERY important Saint of the Church. He was a 4th Century Bishop of Myra, a defender against the Arian Heresy, and he known for his charity towards orphans and children.
This Sunday, at 1PM in the Gym, Santa Claus will join us to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, at our Christmas Festival. What can you expect that day?
- Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Cookie the Gingerbread Woman, and other helpers!
- Live music courtesy of Brett Reilly, and a certain priest you just might know!
- Sing-alongs!
- A reading of "The Night Before Christmas"!
- A light and tasty breakfast!
- Ice cream courtesy of Main Street Sweets in Tarrytown!
- Merry Beverages for mom and dad!
- Arts and Crafts!
- Christmas wreaths for sale by our local Boy Scouts!
- A pop-up shop featuring Disney and Radko Christmas decorations!
Come and bring a friend. Everyone is invited! Please do also make certain to come to Mass to prepare for the coming of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and to thank the Blessed Mother on Her Feast Day, for Her intercession, and for our beautiful Immaculate Conception Church.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Fr. Ashman
