Dear OLF Family,
Also, please remember that although it is the second Sunday of Advent which is the primary focus of our liturgical life, it also falls on the great feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Immaculate Virgin is the firstfruits of the Redemption of Christ and is 'nature's solitary boast' as the saying goes! In short, the closer we draw to the Immaculate, the closer we draw to Christ. Many saints have proven this point, maybe no greater than St Maximillian Kolbe the great martyr of Auschwitz and apostle of the mystery of Mary Immaculate! As a parish dedicated to Our Lady, all feasts of Our Lady should be dear, but none higher than Her greatest prerogative: Being freed from sin in order to love the Word of God so much that it 'forced' Him to Incarnate in Her blessed womb!!
May the Immaculate Virgin guide you all on this second Sunday of Advent to understand the 'breadth, height, depth and width' of the Love of Christ for you personally!!
