Dear Parents,
Blessed Advent to you!
We're just about a month away from the Sacrament of Confirmation. There are a number of finals steps to take and I'm writing to make you aware of how your child(ren) should be preparing.
Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Whenever a person enters into any Sacrament of the Church, they ought to be in a "State of Grace." We attain this state by making a good confession in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Saint Andrew School Students:
Some of the eighth graders were able to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation last week on Wednesday after the All-School Mass. Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11, 2020, the other half of the eighth graders will have the chance the celebrate the sacrament as well. (Please remind them... it works better when they have been doing an ongoing examination of conscience)
Students enrolled in RE:
Students in Religious Education will complete this part of preparation during their regularly scheduled class this Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 4:00pm in the chapel.
Service Project:
The final service project prepared for our program is this Friday, December 13, 2019. The actual time I want students to arrive is 3:45pm at St. Thomas of Canterbury, 4827 N. Kenmore Ave in the basement of the church.
If a student is planning on going with me via public transportation, we will leave from the parish office of Saint Andrew at 3:15pm. However, most students/families seem to be carpooling together, attending together, or making other arrangements. So if a student is planning on going with me by public transportation, please confirm by writing me an email at
david@standrew.org.

Reflection Forms:
It is that time of year in which I am putting a strong push for our candidates for Confirmation to complete the reflection forms over the service projects that they have done, the Baptism and Confirmation they observed (another opportunity this Sunday, December 15 after Mass), and other reflections detailed in the Confirmation Guidbook which I have included below. If there are any questions about requirements that still need to be completed, please download the Confirmation Guidebook below and follow up with any questions that you may have for me.
