Faint of Heart?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is God from of old, creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny. He gives power to the faint, abundant strength to the weak. (Isaiah 40:28-29)
Many of us have learned that if we try to meet life’s demands by relying solely on own strength and inner resources, we will stumble. The good news is that God is with us always and promises to give us the strength through His Son Jesus Christ. We need to persevere and overcome the trials and obstacles we face in life if we but turn to him. Amidst the busyness of the holiday season in which many demands are made on our time, we can easily find ourselves feeling exhausted. We need to spend at least ten minutes in prayer and reflection on each of the remaining days in this Advent season. During this time it is essential that we turn to Jesus, that we open our hearts to his love and grace, that we offer him our cares and burdens. If we do this faithfully, we will be renewed and strengthened by his love, Jesus will help us to shoulder our burdens, and we will be further renewed and strengthened by the gifts and grace of the Holy Spirit.
What do you do with your life’s burdens?
Will you let go and let God handle it for you?
The LORD bless you and keep you!
The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace! (Numbers 6:24-26)
Hail Mary full of grace...
Peace in Christ,
Father Vincent-Vuong Nguyen
