Dear Parents,
I hope you are having a good week!
This Sunday, we are looking forward to having our K-2 students join us on
Sunday, December 15, 2019 for their class which prepares for First Reconciliation and First Communion. The class will begin at 8:45am and end at 9:50am. Come and stay for Mass which will feature readers from our RE program as well as the coffee and donuts that we'll have in the gym after Mass as part of our Hospitality Weekend for the
125th Anniversary.
For all of our students, I would ask that you review the chapter in their books about Christmas and complete the online review with them. It is a little bit confusing because:
I need grades 1-6 to complete chapter 15
I need grades 7-8 need to complete chapter 10.
I have also put an optional assignment for grades 1-6 to complete chapter 10 in their books which covers Advent.
No matter which online reviews you complete, I will count it as a completed class in our attendance sheet. Please remember to send the results to
re@standrew.org

Praying with Art
At the session we had last Sunday (and will offer tomorrow for those parents who have not yet attended), we spent some time looking at the painting of Fra Angelico and seeing how the story of Christ's birth was represented in ways we may have overlooked prior to a closer examination. To share that painting with you so you can see it closer, I have included the photo below.
Also, I told you that I would share with you more information about the Jesse Tree and some templates of ornaments that you could make with your child to help them deepen their appreciation for the ancestors of Jesus and what they meant. The instructions on what Jesse Tree means and how you can pursue making one (or including the ornaments in your own Christmas Tree) can be found by
clicking here or clicking on the photo below.
That's all for this week. Next week, I'll send out a note to remind you about the opportunity to make up online reviews over Christmas break.
God bless!
David Heimann
