Pre-Lent Coffee Chat

Please bring your ideas of what has worked well for you and for your family. Great Lengths
Attention all STM women! STM will be hosting its fourth annual Great Lengths program. We call upon the female members of our school community to make a major sacrifice and donate 8 or more inches of their hair. If your daughter is interested, here is what she needs to do:
1. Fill out the attached permission slip and return to Miss Weiland or Mrs. Basile
2. Give up “cutting her hair” for Lent (we will get a “before” picture of the girls who have committed to donating their hair)
3. Make an appointment at her salon for the week of Holy Week (any day) and donate 8 or more inches of her hair (we will get an “after” picture on Holy Thursday if possible)
4. Bring the hair to school to be blessed at mass (mass date TBD)
There is more information in the attached permission slip, but this simple act can make a huge difference in the life of a child with hair loss. Please consider donating. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Basile or Miss Weiland.
Soles 4 Souls
Oh my goodness! The STM community blew Beta Club away with their generosity towards the Soles 4 Souls Service Project. As a school and parish we were able to collect 3,190 pairs of shoes!!!!!!!! The shoes you collected will be repurposed through their micro-enterprise program, which teaches people in developing nations how to start their own small business selling gently used shoes and clothing. It’s a simple model—but it’s a powerful and sustainable way for people to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. In countries like Haiti and Honduras, the 3,190 pairs of shoes you donated can provide FOUR families with food, shelter, and education for an ENTIRE YEAR! Plus, you’ve helped prevent those 3,190 pairs of shoes from ending up in a landfill. A special thank you to our Beta officers, especially President Julia DeLurgio and Secretary Matthew Preiss who spent every free school minute over the past three weeks collecting the shoes. Thank you so much for your generosity! MAYBE MENTION FREE DRESS DAY HERE
