Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well and are off to a great start for the year!
The Sacrament of Confirmation is just under 2 weeks away! In these last few days, there are some important final details that I need to your help in preparing for your child’s Confirmation.
The most important is completing the online form found at the link below. I would ask that you complete the form by January 10. This helps me clarify the correct spelling for both the candidate and the sponsor as well as finalize the name of the patron saint of Confirmation (Confirmation name).
Please click on the link below to complete the form.
Next Classes:
In the week ahead, we will have the final class for our Confirmation program.
If your child is in RE: The class will be this Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 4:00pm in the chapel.
If you child is in Saint Andrew School: The class will be Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in their classroom.
Reflections Now Due:
I have been getting several candidates for Confirmation sending into me their final reflections from their Confirmation Guidelines packet. If they have lost or need to print another copy of the packet of reflection forms, they are available here:
Final Chance to Make Up Confirmation Retreat:
Several candidates for Confirmation in our program were not able to make the Confirmation retreat on Sunday, October 6, 2019. Some did alternate experiences in place of the retreat and some still need to complete the expectation. The final chance to make up this experience is on
Sunday, January 12. 2020 at Saint Clements parish. Please contact me at
david@standrew.org for more details and to arrange the proper permissions to attend.
Rehearsal for Confirmation:
The rehearsal for the Confirmation Mass will be on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in the main church. In attendance should be the candidate and his/her sponsor (or an adult to stand in for the sponsor).
Help Needed for the Confirmation Liturgy:
I am in need of support for the Confirmation Liturgy. If any of your children who are not being confirmed are available to volunteer as an altar server for the Mass, we are in need of 5 altar servers.
Also, I am looking for candidates who would be willing to participate as liturgical ministers during the Mass. The roles we need are the readers for the Mass (Welcome greeting, First reading, Second reading, and/or petitions) and 3 individuals to carry up the gifts.
Finally, if you, your spouse, or other family member are Eucharistic Ministers, we are in need of two ministers for the distribution of the chalice at Mass.
For any of the opportunities listed above, please contact me at
david@standrew.org to express interest.
Have a good remainder of the week and of Christmas break! I look forward to seeing you in the coming days!
God bless,
David Heimann
