Calling all Marin County residents! Please contact state Sen.
Mike McGuire, who sits on the California Senate Education Committee, in support of a bill to increase parents' rights regarding their children's sex education. On Jan. 15, the committee is scheduled to discuss Senate Bill 673, which would amend current law to require public school districts to post online all the sex education materials to be taught and to allow parents to opt-in their children to instruction, rather than the current opt-out law. The California Catholic Conference is spearheading the effort statewide.
Pray for those who have died by violence in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2019. The Restorative Justice Ministry in cooperation with four orders of women religious is sponsoring four Masses next week to pray for those who have died by violence. The Dominicans of San Rafael, Missionaries of Charity, Sisters of Mercy and Sisters of the Presentation are each sponsoring a special Mass during the week Jan. 14-17.
The Walk for Life West Coast is Jan. 25.The Civic Center rally begins at 12:30 p.m. The day begins with the 9:30 a.m. Walk for Life Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral, celebrated by Portland Archbishop
