Don't miss the opportunity to go to Confession, this Saturday, January 11th. We are fortunate that Fr. Matthew has offered to drive up from Dahlonega, and hear confessions between 10 AM and 12 noon.
SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
We have moved the kick-off of the Spiritual Adoption Campaign to January (Anniversary of Roe vs Wade) with the birth of our spiritually adopted babies scheduled for October, Respect Life Month. This was done at the request of our former Parish Administrator, Fr. Rivera, and makes perfect sense.
At all January 11th & 12th Masses, parishioners will be asked to name their spiritually adopted baby and sign cards pledging to pray for the protection of this baby under the threat of abortion. We hope all will join us in these endeavors. Our Heavenly Father will know how to direct our daily prayers for these intentions, thereby saving the lives of many children!
St. Paul's letter to the Romans has been at the center of reflection, conversion, and controversy from the very beginning. Presented by Dr. Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, Romans: The Gospel of Salvation provides an authentically Catholic way to understand this challenging epistle. Above all, it will help you enter into a more meaningful relationship with Christ.
Classes begin on Monday, January 13 at 10:00 am (facilitated by Deacon Paul Dietz) and 7:00 pm. (facilitated by Paul Sanfilippo).
Some have expressed concern about the cost of Bible Studies. In response we have two ways to participate in this study:
- Purchase the workbook and online access for $27.
2. Attend the study using your own Bible without the workbook or online access at no charge
WEIGHT ON THE LORD
Did you make a New Year’s resolution to lose weight? Join us at the next meeting of Weight on the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, at 9:50 AM in room 11. Through scripture, prayer and sharing we encourage members to make their bodies a fit temple for the Lord.
Catholic Book Club
Did you know we have a small group that loves to read and discuss Catholic books? Yes - We do!
Our January book is Strength in Simplicity by Bishop Emmanuel de Gibergues.
Here is a synopsis of the book: Essential (and easy) reading for busy Catholics, Strength in Simplicity shows you how to grow closer to God in the things you already do every day, without burdening you with numerous devotions or complicated methods.

Our St. Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus is offering a New Orleans Jambalaya Dinner on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 6 PM in Marian Hall.
Tickets are $15 per person, and will be on sale after Masses this week, and next week, January 11th and 12th in the Vestibule of the Church.

The next meeting for Women’s Guild will be Tuesday, January 21 at 10:00 AM in Marian Hall. All women of the parish are invited to join us for Breakfast and Bunco. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play, we’ll teach you!
HEALING MISSION
Father Albert MacPherson is coming to St. Francis for a Healing Mission.
He will be with us celebrating the Masses on January 25th and 26th. And with then be conducting a Healing Mission on January 27-29 . We will have Mass and healing prayer at 6:30 PM each evening of the Mission. Please mark your calendars, and plan to join us to experience the wonders that the Holy Spirit has planned for those who come to seek Him out.
