Men of the parish are invited to join the Men's Fellowship Advent Scripture Study starting this Friday January 10 - February 21 (6 am -7:30 am).
This week we begin an eight-week study of St. Paul's letter to the Christians in Rome. Mr. Jeff Cavin, founder and president of The Great Adventure bible study programs and Dr. Andrew Swafford, theologian, will lead us through Romans.
Paul's letter to the Romans is his longest and thought by many to be the most difficult to understand. The teachings of justification and the relationship of faith and works are some of the most disagreed theologies among Catholic and Protestant Christians. Jeff and Andrew, using sacred tradition, sacred scripture and guidance of the magisterium, will help us understand these doctrines that are so important to salvation.
We meet Friday morning in St. Joseph's Hall at 6:00am for breakfast and fellowship, followed by the presentation and discussion from 6:30 until 7:30.
Paul's instruction to Timothy: "I am writing you about these matters, although I hope to visit you soon. But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth." 1Timothy 3: 14-15.
