Dear Parishioners,
I wanted to let you know that I and the students from Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) at VCU returned home safely from Puerto Rico today. In the course of our mission trip to Ponce, we did experience multiple earthquakes, including the 6.5 magnitude one and multiple aftershocks. We took shelter during the earthquakes and were safe. The students were fantastic during the whole time we were on the island.
Thank you for your concern. Please continue to pray for the people of Puerto Rico, through the intercession of their patroness, Our Lady of Divine Providence, as they grapple with the damage sustained from the earthquakes and the ongoing seismic activity.
I look forward to seeing you at Mass this weekend.
Sincerely,
Father Tony Marques
