Hello, Everyone!
Christmas break seemed like a long time away from school - and yet it was over in a flash! It was great to see everyone walk into the preschool room on January 2nd. This group hasn't stopped movin' yet!
We have a new student in our class! Welcome Maci Ennen!
Maci is slowly making new friends - and doing quite well, I have to say! This group is doing a fine job of making Maci feel welcome.
Once upon a time....eyes & ears were on me as I tried to paint a picture in these little minds of times when one coudn't just turn on a light, get water from a faucet or flush a toilet, read a book, cook at a stove, turn on the heat, wash clothes in a washing machine...Even an adult my age ( & that's old!) has a hard time imagining such things!!
So -we settled down around our camp fire to hear a tale , not to read one!
The story of an old classic, "The Wolf & the Three Little Pigs", unfolded. Soon the group chimed in with huffing & puffing, predictions & giggles.
"This story is kind of scary!", Ryan decided. But soon he joined the others with sound effects!
Mrs. Mac told the flip side of this folk tale the following day: "The big Bad Pig & The Three Little Wolves". It was kind of funny to hear 3 little wolves, animals we think of as bad, assert themselves to be safe from a pig!? Lots of giggles were heard during this story.
Hula-hoops entertained & challenged in the gym!
Making play dough was intriguing...and it is getting a work-out in our classroom! Those kids long ago knew how to have fun!
Speaking of which: It is not too late to send an empty box with your child on Tuesday. The object of the boxes? We want to see what & how children could play with old boxes!
And there'll be a few more "old time things" ahead to try, hear & do together.
Thank you for the yummy snacks provided!
Mrs. A & I are looking forward to more fun in learning with your child!
