Brothers and Sisters,
I write to you this week with some exciting news and what could be a tremendous opportunity for you. During my first several months here I have asked a ton of questions about just about everything. One of the things I discovered is that it has been a long time since a pilgrimage opportunity was offered at Saint Simon. Having the opportunity to go on pilgrimage has been one of the great blessings of my life and certainly has done much to deepen my own relationship with Christ. While not for everyone I do not doubt that some of our parishioners would benefit greatly from an opportunity to go on pilgrimage and I set out to make that a possibility. I am happy to announce that this Fall (October 19th-30th, 2020) you are invited to join me on a pilgrimage to journey to the tomb of Saint Simon and to see many of the saints and shrines of Italy.
Our pilgrimage will include visits to Rome, Florence, Assisi, Siena, Montecassino and Orvieto! We will have the opportunity to visit numerous basilicas, shrines, and churches, while also taking in breathtaking cities and countryside and enjoying incredible food and wine. We will see some of the greatest works of art our world has ever seen and pray at the final resting places of some of the greatest saints.
If you are interested I hope you will take a few minutes to look over the brochure at our website www.saintsimon.org. You are also invited to a question and answer evening on February 19th at 6:30 pm in the Saint John Vianney Room in the Parish Learning Center where you will be able to hear from me and a representative from Tekton Ministries (the pilgrimage company) about pilgrimage and hopefully get all of your questions answered.
In the meantime if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at

God Bless,
Father Doug
