Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our class of confirmandi who were confirmed by Bishop Hicks last night! It was a truly beautiful ceremony and the bishop commented on how well prepared the confirmandi were and how well they represented Saint Andrew parish.
The weekend ahead provides us with the luxury of a three-day weekend, but not just any weekend. The reason for our holiday is to recall the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
We don’t have any classes this Sunday and I am asking that you cover chapter 13 with your child at home, but I’d also ask that you take the time to remind your child(ren) the reason for this weekend. Social justice is the necessary work of a Christian and it was the hallmark of the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Throughout our text books, the publisher has put reminders of the key points about Catholic Social Teaching on social justice. Here is a video that explains those teaching briefly and in one place.
As alluded above, the assignment for the week ahead is for you to review chapter 13 with your child(ren) using their text books and the at-home packets given to you. When you complete the chapter with your child, have them take the online review found at the link below and then email the results to

We will have a prayer elective on Sunday, January 26, 2020 and the following week, Sunday February 2, 2020, we will have a our joint parent-child session for Unit 4 of our text book.
Have a great week ahead!
God bless!
