3 Deaths, 1 Faith
To the upright I will show the saving power of God. (Ps 50:23b)
This day is filled with martyrs. (1) Fabian (c. 200-250) was elected pope when a white dove landed on his head during the voting, a clear sign to the electors. Christianity was still illegal, so he died in prison 14 years later. (2) Sebastian (c. 256-288) died in Rome sometime after he was shot full of arrows. (3) Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-68), commemorated today, was gunned down by an assassin in Memphis, Tennessee. Despite being harassed by the government, Dr. King won the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize and was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Three men who shed their blood for what they believed inspire us to be activists for what we believe. (Take 5 for faith)
❦ What do you believe?
❦ What do you do to demonstrate your Faith?
Dear Jesus, please increase my faith. Help me always to be committed to witnessing for You and courageously living out my faith in all circumstances. Teach me to serve You and others without counting the cost or expecting rewards, but only know that I am doing Your will.
Hail Mary full of grace...
Peace in Christ,
Father Vincent-Vuong Nguyen

Please join us at the Eucharistic Table (Mass) today 8:30 AM praying for peace, justice, and harmony among us.
