OCF Family,
I am writing this pastoral letter in advance of Hurricane Matthew to ask and encourage you in the following:
Before and During the Storm:
Please exercise wisdom, caution and be safe in all you do in the coming days.
- If you are in a mandatory evacuation area - evacuate.
- If you are in need of help now or after the storm let us know! (You can reach me at 904-866-8750 or reply to this email jeff@ocfjax.com)
- Keep your phone charged while we have power so you will have it when the power goes out.
I am asking EVERYONE at OCF to contact AT LEAST one other person/family with your contact info and your whereabouts. Please do this NOW.
I am ALSO asking EVERYONE at OCF to check on AT LEAST ONE OTHER OCF member both NOW AND AFTER THE STORM to make sure your brothers and sisters are ok.
After the storm:
Please be prepared to help others in need. Of course, check on your brothers and sisters (see above). But also, let's be prepared to help your friends, neighbors, co-workers, family members who might be in real need of the love of Christ and a helping hand in the aftermath of the storm. If you're able to help (chainsaws, cleanup, repairs, etc) please let me know.
Always and Forever:
Remember that Jesus is Lord and he is Good. He will provide for our needs. He always has and he always will.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27
Grace and peace,
Pastor Jeff
