For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every foul practice. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity. (From James 3:13-18)
Think about your home, your workplace, your city/county/state/federal government... Think about our leaders at work, in the Statehouse, in Washington DC... Think about the candidates who want to be our President... Do jealousy and selfish ambition exist in these places and in the hearts of leaders or is there pure, peaceful, merciful, gentle, consistent, and sincere leadership? How do you lead your family? Which characteristics does your favorite candidate possess? Is selfish ambition guiding your own actions? Is your church/home/work full of “disorder and every foul practice” or does wisdom from above guide you and those who lead you? Let us strive to be filled with wisdom from above and let us adopt a life of peaceful, merciful, gentle, consistent, and sincere ways, my sisters and brothers in Christ! Amen!
