Dear Parents,
The beginning of Lent is a good time for parents to lead their families to God.
It is no secret that many Catholic families do not attend Sunday Mass. If your family has a hard time making it to Mass, Lent is the perfect time to put it in the schedule.
If you already attend Mass every Sunday, consider coming 15 minutes early and making a good confession. The only way children will see confession as normal, is if parents take the lead.
Meal prayers and prayers before bed are great ways of having a moment of unstructured prayer or to say a treasured family prayer together.
Some families like to “give up” something together. Maybe cut down on the internet of the TV. Find a family-building activity to take its place.
God is reaching out to you during this Lenten Season. Please respond to God’s invitation of grace in some concrete way. The stronger our faith, the stronger Assumption Parish and Schools will be.
I’m praying for you this Lent!
God bless, Fr. Keller
Also, don't forget -
our Parish Mission with EWTN host Doug Barry is coming up on March 2-4 and
we will be offering a special Children's Mission for Pre-K through 5th grade.
