Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In the gospel for this Sunday, Jesus exhorts his disciples to pray always and not to grow weary. This is an important principle in the life of faith; that God wants us to ask him for the things we need and to not be discouraged if we do not initially see our prayers answered. Some of us have been praying for a long time for people in our lives who need His help or situations that need God’s resolution. Persevere, brothers and sisters, God is listening and although he does not promise that he will shield us from difficulty and suffering, he does promise he will walk with us every day and every step of the way.
This Saturday I will be in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, to celebrate the wedding of our staff member, Theresa Zweber. Theresa is marrying Joe Rider and we are all delighted for them and pray that God blesses them.
I also wanted to let you know that I will have some family in town over the next couple of weeks. One of my nieces is being married next week and I am also celebrating that wedding. It is a great sign of hope for the Church to see young people declaring their faith and love in God and one another in the Sacrament of Matrimony. So if you see some people in Church and hear some strange accents, they are probably related to me. Be sure to say Hi.
In Christ,
Fr. Tony
