Knights of Columbus Round Table Meeting
Wednesday, October 26 at 7 pm at the Cathedral Rectory
Men interested in joining the Knights of Columbus or who are already members are urged to join Fr. Neely for a special Round Table meeting to begin the process of forming a Knights of Columbus Council at St. Mary Church. This meeting will be under the auspices of the Cathedral's Council 544.

St. Mary’s will partner with the Cathedral to help with their Room in the Inn ministry. The Cathedral opens its doors to 40 homeless men every Tuesday night from November to April as well as Christmas Eve, Christmas and on extremely cold nights. Volunteers are needed to provide meals, transport guests, serve as inn keepers and help with laundry. Click here to find more details and to sign up to help serve the homeless this winter.
Other ways to help the homeless: St. Mary’s will collect white undershirts (men’s size L and XL), cotton boxer brief underwear (L and XL), travel size shaving cream, and travel size stick deodorant for Room in the Inn. There is a collection box outside the office in the Crypt. In addition, the church office is in need of Subway and Kroger gift cards for the needy who call upon us. Drop your gifts into the collection basket at any time.
The Feast of All Saints is celebrated on Tuesday, November 1, and is a holy day of obligation. Mass will be offered at St. Mary's at 12:10 pm. Confession available 11 - 11:55 am.
All Souls’ Day, though not a holy day of obligation, is for the souls in purgatory. Priests are given special permission to offer three Masses on this day. Mass will be offered at St. Mary Wednesday, November 2 at 7 am, 12:10 pm & 5 pm.
Many Ways to Serve the Church
- St. Mary's Music Ministry has two Scholas: one for the 9 am Sunday Mass and another for the 12:10 Sunday Mass, with openings in all sections. Dr. Nancy Sutton, Director of Music, welcomes all who are interested in singing. Contact her at music@stmarysdowntown.org
- The Wedding Guild at St. Mary's is looking for new volunteers to assist at weddings and rehearsals. Guild members usually are assigned to help at one wedding per quarter, so it's not an overwhelminig commitment. - The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary is seeking committed volunteers to offer person-to-person service to the needy and suffering. Click here to sign up.
