Dear Friends,
After much consultation and out of an abundance of caution for the wellbeing of all our parishioners and the common good, I have made the decision to suspend all parish activities (with the exception of Masses) until further notice. This includes all faith formation classes.
This is also a good opportunity to remind you that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass is lifted when you are ill, and that avoiding spreading illness is a Christian act of charity. Therefore, if you feel ill or are vulnerable to illness or have been in contact with someone who is ill, it would be prudent for you to stay home from Mass.
If you decide to attend Mass, you will notice that every other pew has been roped off. This is out of compliance with the Governor's order to limit public gatherings to no more than 250 people.
Lastly, while many in our community are feeling anxious, perhaps we’re being invited to reach out in love to those who are most vulnerable including those who are sick and those who are fearful of becoming sick and those who are alone. A phone call or note to ask how someone is doing, or to offer a word of comfort, or to offer a prayer, can become part our response to Jesus’ command to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Be well and stay calm.
In the peace of Christ,
Fr. Nick
