New initiative. Here's how you can help through service at St. Raphael
Hello everyone, Please see the message below from our parish staff regarding a new and much needed initiative. Read the full message, watch the video, pray and sign up to serve.
God Bless!
In these confusing and stressful times we look to God to shine a light as we go forward. The past several days we have heard from several people eager to brainstorm ways to support our most vulnerable. We’ve been burning the midnight oil, thinking strategically and designing a variety of paths we as individuals and families can take to reach out to make a difference in another’s experience. The earliest followers of Christ stood out from the larger society for their encompassing love and compassion for each other. We are no different today, let’s get to work!
Our first goal is to build the team that we are calling St. Raphael’s Hands and Feet. We have several options for involvement, all of which respect social distancing, do not put people at risk or can be fulfilled from your home. Opportunities exist for individuals and families to reach out and connect with someone in a meaningful way.
Watch this video (youtu.be/9CCVKMM0rYA) to learn about this effort to aid our most vulnerable or homebound parishioners as we build connections, support their ability to use technology, or provide assistance with essential errands.
Once you’ve reviewed the scope of the ministry, if you’re interested in joining the effort, go to: saintraphael.org/help to complete the volunteer application. You may volunteer in a specific task area or all three. A member of the core leadership team of St. Raphael’s Hands and Feet will be in touch with you to talk through the scope of the ministry, how the relevant task area ‘works’, time commitment etc.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to fulfill our parish vision to connect consciously and serve selflessly as we support our community. God is good.
