My friends in Christ,
I have kept you close in my prayers this week, and I hope that you are adapting well to the new circumstances in which you find yourself. In Today's Gospel, Jesus reminds us that the greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbor. When we follow our community's instructions to isolate ourselves from others, we are showing our love to our neighbors, particularly those who are vulnerable - our elders, our immune-compromised friends. When our friends and neighbors remain healthy in the coming weeks, we can give praise to God knowing he has blessed our efforts.
In Romans 8:31, God reminds us that He is for us and works on our behalf. I pray that you will continue to place your trust in Him and stay close to Him in prayer.
Yours in Christ,
Monsignor Mc
