Brothers:
I hope this update finds you and your family healthy and doing well!
Sorry I've not written sooner, but the last 10 days have been surreal. Every day has brought new news and new challenges. Prayers and support of friends and family has gone a long way. But as I write this, I know these times are not easy, and so the point of my note is provide a brief update as well as some things you can do until we all get back to some normalcy.
First, take time to pray and reflect. In that spirit, I've reattached the Lenten Reflection "Three Crosses" that Deacon Leo shared with us earlier this month. This is a great place to start and take a few minutes with God to reflect on all that is going on in your life during these surreal times.
I know it is difficult for me to get my head around the fact we are not able to attend daily or Sunday mass while these emergency orders are in place. Kudos to Fr. Ed and the St. James' parish staff who have posted this Sunday's Mass on line at our new St. James' website
https://stjamesnovi.org/ . John Satti's wife Deanna did a wonderful job in designing the new site.
In Fr. Ed's homily, he discussed how blind we can be especially during these challenging times, but our relationship with Jesus can correct that blindness, and turn us into lights for others. This period of isolation can be very difficult. We are social creatures who need interaction with God and our fellow brothers and sisters. Please if you need any support, I hope you will reach out to me or your fellow brothers. We are here to serve each others and the St. James' community. Together, we will get through this and be light for each other!!
As for our next meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2020, stay tuned! I hope to share an idea about how we can hold a virtual meeting on that day. More to come!
In the meantime, stay engaged with God and your family and friends. And stay healthy!!
God Bless,
John Fitzpatrick
