Hello Dear Parishioners,
A couple of quick updates from St. Vincent's:
Updated Instructions for Live Streams:
We were so glad to see everyone who joined us yesterday for our Live-Stream Sunday Mass. Unfortunately, our Youtube syndication seems to be suffering from the server overload, so live-streams should be viewed directly from our website instead of Father Hilton's Youtube page. To access our live streams:
- Go to saintvincents.org/live-stream.
- Click the "play" icon on the eCatholic live player.
- If the broadcast does not appear, refresh the page until our stream goes live. (For most of you, the broadcast should now begin automatically at the scheduled time.)
If you missed our Sunday live stream or want to watch previously recorded masses:
- Go to saintvincents.org/live-stream.
- Scroll down to the module labeled "Previously Recorded Masses."
- Click the "play" button in the middle of the screen.
- Select the video that you would like to watch.
Updated Instructions for Online Giving:
A special thank you to everyone who donated this weekend to our parish and school; we received thousands of dollars from many generous donors and we are profoundly grateful for your help during this difficult time! However, we are so sorry for any of you who tried to donate yesterday, but received an "error" message. We believe this was due to the server's increased traffic and should be resolved today. However, if you have any difficulties, please refer to the steps below:
- Go to saintvincents.org/give.
- Fill in your information in the "Donate" module at the top of your screen.
- If you receive an "error" message, try switching to a "check" (bank number) instead of a credit card, or switching your browser from Firefox to Chrome.
- If you are still getting an "error" message and all of your information is correct, send us a message! You can reach us by replying to this email or submitting a message on our contact page. We may not have a technology degree, but you can be sure that we will pour our hearts and souls into figuring out these problems and getting them fixed ASAP. :)
Connecting with Flocknote:
If you are receiving this message directly from us, congratulations! You are a part of the
St. Vincent's Flocknote community! However, we know that many of our parishioners (especially the elderly) are not signed up for this free service and, as a result, are left in the dark during this difficult time. If you know someone who may not be signed up for Flocknote, you can forward them this email or send us the following information:
- Their Name (ideally first and last, but really anything will do :))
- Their Email
- Their Phone Number (not essential, but encouraged)
They can unsubscribe at any time, and if they are already in the system, sending us this information won't affect them at all. Our goal is to consolidate our Flocknote communications into two short, but thorough, emails each week to keep you updated and encouraged throughout this crisis.
Connecting with Instagram and Facebook:
Finally, with all the negative media out there, we are working hard to make sure that our
Instagram and
Facebook pages stay overwhelmingly positive and uplifting during this time. If you have any "success stories" or encouraging images to share, please send them to
laurel@saintvincents.org so that we can share them with our whole community! Examples include homeschooling triumphs, silly kid quotes, support for local businesses, and reasons to smile (all in picture form, ideally!).
