Mass Live Streaming
The first Sunday of live-streaming mass seemed to go very well. I have received a lot of positive comments. One even came from a couple who were my parishioners at St. John Vianney in Round Rock and who now live in Ireland.
Along with live-streaming the Sunday mass at 10:00 AM (English) and 11:00 AM (Spanish), the
daily mass will be live-streamed Monday - Friday at 8:30 AM. If you are not able to watch it live, each mass is being recorded and can be viewed at a later time. You can access the live-stream by going to the
Emmaus Mass Livestream link at: Bit.Ly/2UulQOC. This link is also on our webpage. Or go directly to YouTube and search Emmaus Lakeway. Please pray that the day will come soon when we might once more gather for mass in our church.
A Note of Gratitude
Jerry Gregoire has done all of the work of setting up for and live streaming of our masses. We all owe him a great debt of gratitude for his generous service to the parish.
From Pope Francis: An Invitation to Join Him in Prayer
On Wednesday, March 25, the feast of the Annunciation, Pope Francis is asking all Christians to pray the Lord’s Prayer. He will do so from Rome and he asks us to do the same either simultaneously with him at 6:00 AM or at 12:00 noon, our time. Here is an explanation from Vatican News:
On Wednesday, 25 March, the Feast of the Annunciation, he has invited, “the Heads of the Churches and the leaders of every Christian community, together will all Christians of the various confessions to invoke the Almighty, the omnipotent God, to recite at the same time that prayer that Jesus, our Lord, taught us”—the Our Father. “On that day on which many Christians recall the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary of the Incarnation of the Word,” Pope Francis prayed, “may the Lord listen to the united prayer of all of His disciples who are preparing themselves to celebrate the victory of the Risen Christ.”
Also, the faithful are invited to join the Holy Father on Friday of this week (12:00 noon, our time) for moment of prayer from the steps of St. Peter’s in Rome. Here is the Vatican News’ explanation:
The pope also announced that on the following Friday, 27 March, he will preside over a moment of prayer on the sagrato of St. Peter’s Basilica, the platform at the top of the steps immediately in front of the façade of the Church. “I invite everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication,” he said. The Director of the Holy See Press office confirmed that the moment of prayer on Friday will be broadcast live from the Vatican, beginning at 6:00 PM Rome time. That is 12:00 noon our time.
