During the last few weeks, as difficult as they may have been for all of us, I have never been more proud and grateful to be part of the POTHE family. Our clergy is working tirelessly to come up with creative ways to attend to the sacramental and spiritual needs of our parishioners. The faith formation staff has initiated ways for our parishioners to continue to grow in their faith and are reaching out to parishioners—especially those who may be in need. The musicians have turned their schedules around to make sure that our weekend masses have music. Our maintenance staff is sanitizing everything and trying to make sure the buildings are ready for when we can once again attend Mass and events. Our business office is working hard to maintain communication through the bulletins and multiple forms of media as well as to create strategies to keep our parish going strong. It is uplifting and encouraging to see everyone pull together to continue the mission and work of the parish.
We hope you are joining our parish family by “attending” the virtual Masses we are broadcasting on the parish website
and our Facebook page. Perhaps you are also participating in the remote devotions we have added. Although we can’t come together in person at mass, we are still one parish, and it is my prayer that we all come out of this stronger in faith and with a deep hunger for the Mass and the Eucharist.
Many thanks to those of you who continue to support the parish through online giving or by mailing in your offertory. Just like families, the parish has expenses that continue, and your steady generosity gives us some stability in this time. For those of you who don’t give online or mail in contributions, we would greatly appreciate it if you would consider doing so. There is a link to our online giving platform on our home page at
www.pothe.org or you can use the buttons below. If you don’t want to give online, but would like to continue to support the parish, you can mail in your offertory to the parish office at: POTHE, 266 Foreside Road, Falmouth, ME 04105. We appreciate any help you can give to get through these trying times.
Our whole staff desires to continue to serve the parish, and we welcome your input—especially if you see a need that isn’t being met or have a prayer request you would like us to include in our devotions. Although the parish offices are closed, you can email us at
pothe@portlanddiocese.org or call us at 207-847-6890 and leave a message. Our phone system is also set up with a dial-by-name directory, so you should be able to reach the staff. We are working hard to keep on top of needs and requests.
If I can be so bold, I would ask you to keep our staff in your prayers. We will definitely be praying for you 😊
Thank you,
Melissa Bagdon
