Catholic hospitals, schools and social service organizations are among those organizations that stand to benefit from the $2 trillion plus package passed by the U.S. Senate and before the House of Representatives today. The national worry about scarcity of ventilators and respirators as we confront COVID-19 also is a reminder to check what or if you have stated your wishes in a situation where you are not able to make your own decisions about your medical care. Life Legal Defense Foundation notes that many advance health care directives state the person does not want the use of a ventilator or respirator--and yet most of us would want those interventions to survive COVID-19.
The Archdiocese of San Francisco is launching a website for parish donations during this time when public celebration of Mass has been suspended. Some parishes have online giving at the parish website too. The website is simple and will help us help our parishes financially in this time. OR please consider dropping off or mailing a donation to your parish.
