Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
In this week’s Sunday Gospel, Mary and Martha’s relationship with Jesus brought them to believe in him even more. Jesus comforts us all in our sorrows, and our faith is strengthened by our encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist. Jesus comes to us like he came to March and Mary with an invitation to believe that Jesus’ own death and resurrection have meaning for us in the messiness of our daily life.
I want to reiterate to the parish faithful that we appreciate your patience and understanding over during this trying time in our country and Church. Together as a community we continue to monitor and adhere to the effects of the Corona Virus (Covid-19) unfolding in the world. This is an unprecedented phenomenon that is changing the way we live and the way we come together as a community to worship.
During this time unprecedented challenges in the Church, I am challenging the entire Church community to use our electronic formats for the dissemination of information from our parish. We have our website:
Sthyacinth.org, which is updated daily with information about the activities that go on in the parish. There is
Flocknotes, which is our information delivery service for the parish, in which we email and or text information about the activities of the parish. Go to
Flocknote.com/sthyhouston and join the group “Parishioners”. We are on
Facebook, go and ‘like’ our Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/StHyacinthchurch .
For the season of Lent in preparation for the Easter Season, I want to encourage everyone on their downtime to use FORMED.org in which the parish password is 77GVZ3.
We will continue to do our best to provide the faithful of STHY with a video of the Sunday Mass. Soo Please go ahead and subscribe to our St. Hyacinth YouTube channel for videos and live stream updates, and also the video of the Mass will be featured on our website as well.
With the Coronavirus affected every aspect of the Church I want to challenge everyone to continue to support the Church during this time. I ask the faithful to continue to support the St Hyacinth community through on-line giving or by mail. This will ensure that our parish will be able to meet payrolls and pay monthly bills. Go to online giving tab at Sthyacinth.org and either enroll online at www.faithdirect.net and our Church Code is TX526, or give online through PayPal, Text to Give, or simply mail in your contribution into the Church. Thank you for your support.
God Bless,
Fr. Reginald Samuels
