Dear Parishioners,
The most difficult thing a Priest can be asked to do is to stop saying Mass for their flock.
The Eucharist is central to our Faith.
It is the reason for the Church.
So it brings Fr. Roy and I great joy to be able to share our "private" Mass, for the Fifth Sunday of Lent, with you. This Mass is for every person on the "front lines" of this crisis - our physicians, nurses, truck drivers, delivery personnel, cleaning and sanitizing staff, and those who work tirelessly in markets and pharmacies, and in other essential services. This Mass is for those of you who are unable to leave your homes. This Mass is for those of you in at-risk groups who wish you could pray silently in our church, but can't. This Mass is for our parents who are working hard to teach their children the Faith, but cannot kneel next to them in a pew. This Mass is for those of you who have spent time away from the Church, and realize the void that it has left in you. This Mass is for those of you for whom daily Mass was, until now, a way of life. This Mass is for all of you.
May the Blessed Mother continue to look over Her children of Immaculate Conception Church.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Fr. Ashman
