- Death Notice Ruth Ann Campbell was born 2/6/1923 and passed away on 3/29/2020. Please keep Ruth Ann and her family in your prayers. Condolances can be sent to the family c/o Carolyn McGonagle (daughter) at 1110 Surrey Drive, Newark, OH 43055.
- Buddy System With the help of volunteers, we have reached out to over 400 parishioners so far. Thank you volunteers! Our outreach doesn't have to stay within our parish community though. We want to help! If you know someone who might be lonely, would enjoy a "buddy" to call them, or might need some shopping help due to being immune-compromised, please let us know! Contact Debby @ 740.334.3147 or Joanne 740.345.9874 ext 258. Be the reason someone smiles today!
- Serving the Poor COM is always adapting so that we may continue to serve the poor in our community. We have launched a new program called GRAB-N-GO where we distribute bagged supplies to those in need downtown Newark. More details to follow and we'll reach out to our church family soon with details on how you can help - even from home!
SCHOOL NEWS
- Online Learning Continues We hope our families enjoyed their spring break - especially that beautiful final weekend we had! Unfortunately, we just received a new directive from the governor's office stating that our physical school buildings will remain closed through May 1. However, online learning will continue! We are grateful for the adaptability of both our families and our staff. We have confidence that this trial will make us stronger because we all know through our faith...Light will Prevail!
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL
Virtual Offertory Options As Fr. Dave and the staff are focusing on the spiritual needs of the parish, we feel it is important to communicate to you that while 51% of our giving comes from Electronic giving, 49% comes to us through the collection at Sunday Mass. Now that we are forced to attend Mass virtually during this COVID-19 “Stay-at-Home” period, we are not able to pass the collection basket which has caused an significant decline in the support needed to run our parish. Therefore the parish has expanded its virtual giving capabilities. Please consider using one of these other options during the COVID-19 “Stay-at-Home” period. These options make processing offertory easier and more secure as the parish staff is working from home.
- Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - MOST RECOMMENDED - For reoccurring gifts, you can set up automatic debit to one’s bank account or charges to one’s credit card. Please fill out this Offertory Commitment Form to set up recurring payments.
- One-Time Online Donation If you normally donate by envelopes or the basket, we have set up a link to donate online with a one-time donation by credit card. Click here to complete the form. You may use this link as often as you like.
- Text-to-Give Another option is through our new TEXT-to-GIVE number. Donate simply by texting SFDS to 740.240.6093. You can also use this in place of your normal offertory basket giving.
- US Mail If you would like to continue using your envelopes, please mail your contribution into the parish office at 40 Granville Street, Newark, OH 43055. Checks are preferred as cash is not a safe or secure way to fulfill your offertory through the mail.
