Dear Parishioners,
At St. Catherine's my primary concern is the holiness, health and safety of our parishioners. I am praying for all who have been impacted by the current health crisis, especially the sick and their care givers. The spread of COVID-19 has truly impacted our parish, our community and our country. As a parish, we will continue to communicate with you about our pastoral ministry and parish activities frequently so that you are aware of what is going on.
Please continue to pray and support those most vulnerable – those with less stable employment, and parents who need to work and are unable to find childcare. In a special way, we want to support the elderly, sick and shut-ins who may feel isolated, lonely, or afraid. In the spirit of Lent, I ask that we all embrace such works of mercy with zeal and to practice a spirit of gratitude and generosity to others, whether by using our time to pray, checking in with neighbors, or delivering groceries, or donating to those in need.
Our parish is continuing to reach out to our shut-ins, provide assistance to those who ask, teach our young the Faith, have youth group meetings (digitally), work with Tri-Area Ministry and other resources, and so much more, despite the parish office being closed and staff working from home. I thank each of you for the many ways you support our parish and ask that you please continue to support the work of our Church in Eastern North Carolina. Our parish is dependent upon your weekly financial gifts to continue its ministries even when we are not able to gather for Mass.
As able, please use this time to transition to online giving using the button below, or mail your weekly offertory donations to the parish: 520 W Holding Ave, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Know how grateful I am for your contributions.
Join me in prayer for the repose of the souls of those who have died, for those who grieve the death of loved ones, for the recovery of those who are sick, for the strength of healthcare workers and caregivers, and for an end to this health crisis. Please be assured of my prayers for you, and all St. Catherine's parishioners. May we trust in Jesus always.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Bill John
Pastor
