My friends in Christ,
Thank you for joining me this week in our live-streamed daily Masses, rosaries, and adoration. Our parish community has found many new ways to move forward in our faith these past few weeks:
- The sign-ups for this week's blood drive filled up immediately.
- Many of our ministries, including Word of God, Legion of Mary, and our RCIA candidates are meeting in Zoom conferences to pray and to learn.
- Our security team is handing out snack bags to homeless visitors.
- This week, I commissioned a new team of Stephen Ministers who already have a full docket of people in need of pastoral care.
- Our PSR students are completing a home curriculum.
- With video instruction from their coaches, our recreation athletes are training in their yards at home.
- Our youth are receiving video reflections and praying with their leaders on Instagram Live.
I praise God that our parish community is tenacious in these unprecedented times.

Helping The Most Vulnerable Atlantans
On a normal Palm Sunday, you'd see volunteers from St. Vincent de Paul standing outside the Cathedral doors after Mass with collection baskets. They are striving to meet the critical needs of people in Atlanta - rent, food, and utility bills - and pleas for assistance have tripled in the last two weeks.
You can support St. Vincent de Paul with an online donation. Use CTK’s online giving page at cathedralctk.com/giving. On the online giving form, you’ll find St. Vincent De Paul under “Cathedral Collections.” Your gift will go directly to the assistance provided to people in need.
Bishops Konzen and Shlesinger will participate in the liturgies of Holy Week at the Cathedral and invite you to join them prayerfully by live stream.

A Prayer in Uncertain Times
May we who are merely inconvenienced
remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
remember those who must choose between
preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children
when their schools close remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
remember those who have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money
in the tumult of the economic market
remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
remember those who have no home.
During this time when we cannot
physically wrap our arms around each other,
let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God
to our neighbors.
