Hello SNS families,
What many people anticipated but hoped against has happened. As you might have seen/heard this afternoon, Governor Holcomb announced that Indiana schools will remain closed through the end of the school year and will utilize some alternate form of learning.
We did plan ahead and our current plan of eLearning on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will continue through the end of the school year. At this time our school year will officially end on May 22, 2020. We will utilize our last two flexible learning days (waiver days to public schools) on May 26 and 27th. There will be no eLearning on Good Friday.
The staff and I have been proactive on what will be necessary as far as documentation to certify learning has taken place as directed by Dr. McCormick today. We are confident, dare I say, that we are ahead of the game at this point.
As restrictions are lifted moving into summer, we will devise a plan for returning textbooks and Chromebooks etc.
A school newsletter will be sent out tomorrow with information about enrollment for next year if you have not already turned in those forms.
We will continue communicating with you as new development arise including anything affecting education and our 8th grade Solemn Communion plans. I appreciate your patience.
Please tell all of our students that I truly miss seeing them everyday, even those who walk into school in the morning with a grumpy "good morning" because they know I won't let them by without acknowledging me :)
Stay safe and healthy! I continue praying for all of you.
Mrs. Kirschner
